Senior Data Analyst – CRM (Salesforce)


The Senior Data Analyst assists in the analysis, design, implementation and operation of data movement systems; business intelligence and data warehousing systems; data quality processes and tooling; and data goverance. The Senior Data Analyst also assists in identifying data sources; the development of data flow diagrams; well-formed CORE Enterprise Architecture(EA) Artifacts and other related documentation; and processing support tickets. This individual must have a good working knowledge of conceptual and logical data modeling; functional and technical specification development; relational database management principles and SQL programming techniques.

 The Senior Data Analyst works directly with business unit personnel to improve the fit-for-use (quality) of the business’s data. They play a key role in defining and establishing business and end-user data quality requirements, as well as creating an end-user data quality  community, (including moderatoring social media sites on data quality). This individual will develop a good working relationship with end-user organizations and will function as the end users' representative on data quaity issues. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for contributing to and making use of the various models in the enterprise, EA precepts and Quality Assuring data movement and BI applications.



  • Lead the data gathering, sourcing, staging, transformaton and loading activities associated with our global Salesforce.com initaitive.
  • Act as the primary expert regarding CRM data and the data contained in Salesforce.com
  • Lead the Salesforce.com end user data quality community
  • Develop expertise and take the leardeship role managing our SAP data quality, ETL and MDM tools.
  • Operate and Monitor ETL jobs.
  • Level 3 and Level 4 Help Desk Support
  • Understands and document data elements within and across business processes  and workflows including their relationships to current and future solutions.
  • Partners with business users to fully surface their data requirements; conducts interviews with key project stakeholders, documents and presents the results.
  • Elicts data requirements using Business Glossary to remove ambiguity.
  • Defines data elements within uses cases to articulate new database or data processing needs.
  • Assists business users, project managers and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of proposed projects; helps manage expectations of users and management.
  • Analyzes the impact of change requests.
  • Supports traceability from data requirements through to QA; assists in the definition of test plans and testing strategies and in the creation of test cases.
  • Assists in the definition of roll out, training and user support plans.
  • Creates and/or reviews manuals, procedures, and related user documentation; ensuring documentation is targeted to the appropriate audience.
  • Presents concepts in a concise and focused manner, including narrative, process diagrams, data diagrams (including ERDs), roles and accountability diagrams and business-focused story boards.
  • Performs special assignments as requested by supervisor.
  • Provide direction and oversight to junior staff.


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in data analysis, transforming defined business needs into software and data requirements.
  • Minimum of 3 years of database development experience developing custom solutions
  • Architectural focus with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills
  • Strong experience in writing functional and technical data extract, transform and load (ETL) specifications; documenting information flows; business glossaries; data dictionaries; and conceptual/logical data models
  • Strong Experience with MSSQL Server (3+ years), including use of SQL, schemas; stored procedures, triggers, and views
  • Strong Experience with ETL processes and controls
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience in coding in a market leading ETL toolset (Informatica, IBM, SAP)
  • Experience with data warehouses, business intelligience and analytics
  • Experience in defining and implementing data quality programs and tools
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders – Business partners, IT project team members
  • Leadership for internal collaborative and social media sites
  • Proficient with MS Access 2007 (or above) Tables and Queries. Is familiar with MS Access 2007 (or above) Forms, Reports, Objects and External Data connectors
  • Knowledge of IT processes, general controls and project management.
  • Full system development life cycle understanding
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, on budget and according to client expectations
  • Experience with unit testing and test driven development
  • Desried, but not required: Has participated in the support/launch of a Salesforce.com community of at least 100 users, that implemented Contacts, Accounts, Notes, Activities, Opportunities, Champaign and Contract natvie SalesForce.com objects.
  • Desired, but not required: Experience as a SalesForce.com administrator.
