Job Description

Data Anaylst / Enterprise Systems (Contract-To-Hire)

 

The analyst is responsible for analysis of data requirements, contributing to and making use of  enterprise data models, The data analyst  assists in identifying data sources and the development of data flow diagrams and related documentation. This individual must have a good working knowledge of relational database concepts, data modeling  and programming concepts.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or or related field or equivalent experience.

·         Minimum of five years experience in data analysis, transforming defined business needs into software and data requirements.

·         Experience documenting information flows and data modeling

·         Knowledge of IT processes, general controls and project management and system development life cycles

·         Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills

·         Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·         Ability to collaborate with stakeholders ? Business partners, IT project team members

·         Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Requirements:

·         Lead the data gathering, sourcing, staging and loading activities associated with our global enterprise systems

·         Provide knowledge and leadership regarding the data and the integrity of that data in our core enterprise systems

·         Work closely with clients and internal business partners to acquire information about their current information and data repositories and determine how to assimilate that information into our core enterprise systems

·         Review and process inquiries related to corporate data and facilitate resolution of these issues

·         Work with SAP and Microsoft ETL and data quality tools to facilitate data movement, quality and MDM initiatives

·         Partner with external clients on data movement activities related to specific products and services

·         Create and maintain the necessary artifacts related to our data infrastructure

·         Operate and Monitor ETL jobs.

·         Level 3 and Level 4 Help Desk Support

·         Partners with business users to fully surface their data requirements; conducts interviews with key project stakeholders, documents and presents the results.

·         Elicts data requirements using Business Glossary to remove ambiguity.

·         Defines data elements within uses cases to articulate new database or data processing needs.

·         Assists business users, project managers and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of proposed projects; helps manage expectations of users and management.

·         Analyzes the impact of change requests.

·         Supports traceability from data requirements through to QA; assists in the definition of test plans and testing strategies and in the creation of test cases.

·         Assists in the definition of roll out, training and user support plans.

·         Creates and/or reviews manuals, procedures, and related user documentation; ensuring documentation is targeted to the appropriate audience.

·         Presents concepts in a concise and focused manner, including narrative, process diagrams, data diagrams (including ERDs), roles and accountability diagrams and business-focused story boards.

·         Performs special assignments as requested by supervisor.

·         Provide direction and oversight to junior staff.
