POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Design, code, debug, test and document software
• Participate in system testing
• Write unit tests
• Perform/Participate in design and code reviews
• Author Documents (Design, internal ICD, etc…)
• Estimate work
• Work with Software Configuration Management tools
• Take direction from Team Lead or Manager
• Adhere to software processes (coding standard, review standard, software configuration management, etc…)
• May Perform Interviews
• May need to travel on occasion (< 5% of time)
• Customer support as required
• Keep current on job technologies
• Interface with other Systems Engineers, Project Management, Customer Service, and other Software Developers

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related area
• 5 years experience developing C/C++ applications in a real-time operating system (QNX6 preferred)
• 2 years experience developing C/C++ SIL-2 software systems
• 2 years experience developing C/C++ MISRA compliant software systems
• Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• Experience with CppUnit or other unit testing frameworks
• Experience with POSIX Threads
• Experience writing applications for distributed systems
• Experience with Socket programming (TCP/IP and/or UDP/IP)
• Experience with static analysis tools such as PC-Lint
• Experience in train industry preferred
• Familiarity with Design Patterns
• • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Capable of developing and debugging multi-threaded real-time applications
• Good communication skills
• Familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Familiarity with Shell/Perl scripting for automation
• Familiarity with SEI-CMM
• Familiarity with UML
• Familiarity with relational databases
• Familiarity with CVS, Subversion, Bugzilla and Doxygen
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members
• Willing to travel as required
