Assistant Laboratory Supervisor-
Description
Responsible for assisting the laboratory supervisor in the planning, coordinating, and supervising all of the functions within the shift including testing, staffing, training, scheduling, maintaining supplies, and relating with Laboratory administration, other laboratories, nursing service, and physicians. Acts as the shift supervisor in the absence of the laboratory supervisor Ensures that services are of the best quality, are cost contained, and are carried out in an expeditious manner. Performs laboratory testing as needed or required. Prepares shift schedules making sure that appropriate staffing levels are met. Assists with competency assessment. Hours: 2nd shift
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate degree required. Bachelor preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of three years experience in a medical laboratory required.
Certifications / Licenses:
- Registration as an MT(ASCP) or equivalent required.
