Position Overview
Extropy is currently recruiting for a fulltime Sr. Network Engineer with 7+ years of experience in core network routing and switching. Ideal candidates have active JNCIE or CCIE certifications. However, lower level certified people will be considered with appropriate experiences and skill sets.
Qualified candidates will be hired into full time roles with Extropy and will be dedicated to supporting our customer, Juniper Networks. This is a highly technical role, providing post-sales on-site support of Junipers Network Products. The Sr. Engineer will be required to develop and maintain an expertise on the products deployed within the Customers network.
The ideal candidate is an expert with the Juniper line of products and an expert in LAN switching and routing. OSPF is a must. Additionally, this candidate needs to work well with others, be able to communicate complex ideas to other technical people and able to teach JunOS to non Juniper engineers. This individual needs to be an expert at JunOS, capable of not only direct implementation of the equipment but also teaching the intricacies of Juniper equipment, the JunOS CLI environment, and exposing the local staff to the benefits of scripting within JunOS.
In this role, you will be working with the US Army, educating them on the Juniper technical solution, supporting and deploying solutions, and evangelizing the Juniper Message. You will work closely with the Juniper account teams to position Juniper with the Army. Candiates who have an Army background or have consulted with the Army at an SI will be a plus.
Non-local candidates will be considered, but must be willing to relocate to the city where the position is based.
Job Duties
- The preparation of equipment configurations and validation of configurations for new installations, changes within the network, software upgrades etc
- Development and maintenance of fault diagnosis procedures to support effective fault resolution
- Development and maintenance of network operational support procedures related to the Juniper Networks products
- Assessing the health of a network
- Network related testing to ensure that the Juniper Networks products operate correctly
- Implementation, integration & migration planning
- Validation testing of the Juniper Networks products
- Troubleshooting of network issues
- Ongoing, informal, knowledge transfer
- Acting as a technical liaison with Juniper Networks Customer
- Service and Engineering groups:
- Assisting JTAC with open JTAC cases
- Submission of problem reports
- Advice, and demonstration if necessary, of new software and hardware features
Requirements
- 7+ years of network Deployment and Operations
- One or more of the following certs (JNCIE, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIA, CCNP)
- Deep experience with core L2/L3 technologies
- Strong in LAN/WAN/MAN, routing and switching
- Strong in JUNOS
- Strong in LN1000, J and SRX, SSG, Cisco
- Strong with OSPF, BGP
- Experience with MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, Multicast, QOS , IPv6
Highly Desirable Skills
- JNCIE or CCIE with strong JUNOS skills
