IT Security Analyst I/II or III (closed)
Alliant Energy is currently expanding it’s IT Security team. We are looking for qualified individuals to help our technical team who supports our IT Security infrastructure such as firewalls, vpn, IDS, and centralized logging. Ideal candidates would have experience with Cisco and Checkpoint security technologies.

In this challenging role you will provides operational support for authentication and identity management systems. Participates in the development, implementation and enhancement of processes and standards relating to information security.
This position may be filled at a I/II or III level depending on experience.

Participates in technical planning for computer software, hardware, maintenance contracts, and budgeting.
Participates in planning, design, and implementation of security solutions.
Provides operational support for security systems as needed.
Participates in low complexity projects impacting security. Stays informed of progress on company, department, and team level projects impacting security.
Assists in creation of presentations for security projects, proposals and initiatives.
Assists information security analysts and other IT areas with documentation of system hardening and security issues.
Executes routine security systems administration including policy management, installation, maintenance, testing, debugging and documentation.
Assists with the development and documentation of disaster recovery and contingency plans for security architecture.
Maintains and facilitates audit of detailed documentation of security policies, procedures, standards and documentation.
Remains knowledgeable of and helps monitor compliance to approved security policies and tactical and strategic plans.
Ensures accurate and timely completion of operational security requests.
Prepares and maintains operational documentation.
Assists in developing security training and education programs. Conducts formal and informal security training.
Complies with procedures for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) regulations.
Participates in 24x7 on call rotation.

Education or experience equivalent to a two year degree from an accredited college or university, with emphasis in information technology.
A minimum of zero to two years technical and/or professional experience in server administration, data networking, firewall administration, or applications development, with knowledge of networking principles or a networking certification.
Experience with at least one of the following preferred: internet security, encryption, identity management, firewalls, intrusion detection, authentication systems (token or biometrics).
Knowledge of mainframe, database, network, server, and remote connectivity security.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.
