Job Description

Long-term contract in Austin, Texas

Provides support of business unit and facility for all desktop hardware, networking, telecomm and local systems/technical infrastructure items.  Responsible for managing IT Support team and interacting with operational leaders and teams for IT needs. 

Duties may include:

-              Manages the activities and personnel associated with providing technical services to internal customers by identifying, prioritizing, and confirming resolution of reported problems with desktop, laptop, networked systems, software applications, and all other related IT infrastructure

-              Ensures that all phases of desktop support, including installations, upgrades, software, hardware, operating systems, and operating system configuration issues, are properly coordinated, monitored, tracked, and resolved

-              Oversees maintenance of database for data integrity and security for desktop systems

-              Develops information technology projects and provides strategic management and objectives for the department

-              Manages PC hardware and software between all user departments and company locations

-              Plans, organizes, and implements support functions to meet end-user requirements

-              Provides onsite or remote access diagnoses and resolution of computer hardware and software problems using diagnostic tools and techniques

-              Researches, analyzes, develops, and documents regarding process, technical specifications, communications systems, storage area networks, networks and infrastructure topography

-              Serves as technical expert providing support to IT Technicians

-              Serves as a liaison between other technical staff, management, users, and vendors regarding service requests, usage, standards, security, and other technical matters

-              Implements and ensures overall IT security within ACS Security Policy guidelines for technical infrastructure including documentation of policy/procedures

-              Management of all networking components, hardware, and infrastructure that includes network administration and management of Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Active Directory

-              Overall management of local servers (Linux, Windows, etc.)

-              Support and management of VPN hardware, configuration, and set up

-              Support of web applications, reporting software, and optimization tools that require some knowledge of writing SQL queries, C#, HTML structure, and macros

-              All other duties as assigned

Education / Experience:

-              MCP, A+, Net+

-              Technical skills in C#, HTML Structure, JavaScript basics, Macro level of Microsoft Office preferred

-              Ability to set strategic direction of IT platform and make proactive changes to the Operations environment

-              Understanding of systems management software, remote control, patch management, software distribution, and computer operating systems

-              Expertise within network environments and concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, wireless and mobile computing

-              Expertise with Computer servers, server operating systems, server tools and utilities, and server data backup and restore

-              Knowledge of file maintenance, report generation methods, interactive processing and remote printing, data communications and data processing hardware and software

-              Considerable technical problem solving and analytical skills

-              Ability to provide analytical, technical, and administrative support in planning, designing, and implementation of information technology hardware, software, and network components

-              Must be able to support a variety of technologies, business departments and systems, and independently resolve problems and pro-actively communicate solutions

-              Required to effectively make oral and written reports and presentations and prepare clear and concise graphs and charts

-              Understanding and previous experience with Telecomm/ACD system support and management
