Job Description

The RiskTool service provides an analytics tool kit for the equity sales, trading, and client reporting desks. Tools include pre trade market impact analysis, pre and post trade client reporting, intraday position PnL and exposure analysis, book management, and post trade analytics.

We are looking for a strong technologist, with experience maintaining and operating high volume, critical systems. The role reports to the regional IT RiskTool Project Manager, and is part of a global team. The team is responsible for enhancing, maintaining, and operating a global PnL and risk/exposure system used by a number of trading desks. The role provides support for end users as well as works with product teams to scope and prioritize future development work. The focus is on continuously maintaining and improving regional service levels for end users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Production Management to provide uniform and high quality support to the user community
• Handle business user queries on a day to day basis
• Work with development teams to understand and resolve technical and market data issues
• Define the regional release and deployment process, including standardizing production environments, coordinating with Production Management
• Participate in business analysis, working with Business Solutions and Product Development teams to gather and prioritize requirements
• Understand complex application structures and features in order to document and communicate enhancement requests to development teams

Core competencies:

• Understanding of equity markets and risk management
• Strong mathematics background, with ability to understand and define risk calculations and metrics
• Ability to communicate with Traders and Senior IT management
• Ability to manage time sensitive situations

Experience | Exposure (Recommended):

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills in order to deal with diverse teams
• Ability to work in a virtual, global team
• Solid technical skills with an interest in both client and server side technologies
• Excellent scripting skills, with a focus on Unix Shell and Perl
• Development experience with Java, Tibco, JMS, RMI, with a minimum ability to read and understand Java code
• Experience with Ant/Maven
• Familiar with job scheduling tools, such as crontab and control-M
• Experience with automated testing and deployment frameworks, such as Hudson/Jenkins
• Prior experience in production release management and deployments
• Experience with application monitoring tools, such as Geneos
• Good understanding of SQL

Education | Certification:

• Technical oriented certificate from specialized school
• Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university
