Job Description

Leading company in Failure Analysis and Forensic Engineering is seeking a talented Forensic Electrical Engineer with exceptional interpersonal, speaking and leadership skills. 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field investigations and analyze fires/failures/accidents involving all types of electrical equipment and wiring systems
  • Perform electrical evaluations of failed and damaged components to determine the root cause of the failure including lightning damage, electrocutions, electrically related fires, appliance and consumer product failure evaluation, commercial equipment failures and damage evaluation of other power or electrical systems.
  • Apply engineering principles in accordance with industry standards to investigation analysis
  • Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
  • Responsible for retention and development of client relations
  • Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen’s terms both verbally and in writing
  • Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering   
  • Must have P.E. registration through testing
  • Minimum of eight years of engineering experience
  • Background in power systems, controls, and NEC knowledge helpful
  • Excellent oral and writing skills
  • Public speaking experience a plus

 

Physical Requirements:

  • 25% travel
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and structures
  • Ability to drive to field site locations
