Job Description


As a product “evangelist”, the Product Solutions Consultant (PSC) is responsible for maintaining relationships with existing customers and fostering new relationships with prospects. Utilizing domain knowledge to demonstrate the distinctive value of Geofacets is an important component of this role.  The PSC will be responsible for creating initiatives that promote product engagement, usage and retention of key customer accounts. The incumbent will be proactive in creating exciting educational, training, and other materials to reach and deepen our relationship with existing and potential customers.




·         Train potential and existing customers to optimize their use of Geofacets features and functionality


·         Proactively monitor & support key strategic accounts by providing on-site and WebEx customer trainings as well as building relationships with key users


·         Monitor & support trial customers and work with global sales colleagues to increase conversion to sale


·         Provide training to internal sales colleagues


·         Develop and deliver training materials including on-site presentations, webinars, videos, FAQ’s and update trainings on new releases for customers and internal sales colleagues


·         Collect customer feedback and share that with the product development and marketing teams


·         Maintain and analyze customer performance metrics


·         Support Account Managers on sales calls to bring product knowledge and domain expertise


·         Work with the marketing and product teams to develop activities to increase customer usage and retention


Geofacets is Elsevier’s searchable database of georeferenced geological maps that enables geoscientists working in the early stages of Upstream exploration to assess a region or basin’s geologic characteristics with efficiency and confidence. Geofacets enriches our scientific analyses and risk assessments for exploration and accelerates productivity and efficiency of exploration teams.
The ideal candidate will have:
·          Minimum Bachelor’s degree in geosciences or related discipline (e.g., environmental science); Candidates with other degrees will be considered;
·         Ability to work independently, problem solve, manage and develop new projects;
·         Strong presentations and interpersonal skills to develop credibility with all levels of staff and senior management internally and externally;
·         Experience in B2B environment;
·         Experience in training, teaching or customer development is a plus; and
·         Ability to work across international borders and willingness to travel 10-20% per year, mainly domestic with occasional international travel
