Director of Nursing for Harlem LTC Facility.
Sal: $110K- $120K
The Director of Nursing participates in Quality Improvement, Risk Management, organizing, coordinating and evaluating nursing services under the direction of the Chief Nurse Executive. This position supervises in accordance with current, federal, state and local regulations. The Director of Nursing is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties including the supervision of Nurse Managers, Nurses, CNAs, and Unit Clerks.
Oversee the accident & injury process for the entire facility. Recognize, investigate, follow up and guide to appropriate channels any occurrences that may result in legal actions. Evaluates quality of patient care through reports from quality assurance and patient relations departments.
Assist administration in determining the most cost-effective and efficient levels of patient care clinically and operationally. Oversees the development, revision and implementation of department policies and procedures to assure attainment of goals and standards set by the Nursing department. Organizes the Nursing department to delineate lines of authority, functional responsibilities and channels of communication. Develops plans of corrective action to reduce identified risk and improve patient safety.
Licensed and currently registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State, plus Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. A background that encompasses risk management and adherence to various regulatory agencies.
