Student Services

• Serve as accountable leader for all middle school programming;  including initial recruitment and selection
• Maintain a close relationship with middle school student families and manage all communication
• Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools and contacts for recruitment and ongoing student support

Instructional Leadership

• Serve as instructional leader of rigorous summer program, overseeing a staff of 24 Intern Teachers and 4 Instructional Coaches
• Recruit,  select, and mange part‐time staff
• Aid in organization, development, and implementation of scalable services (i.e. curriculum development, student  / staff recruitment, new program development)
• Collect, maintain, and report data from middle school program quarterly to  assess performance on annual scorecard of program goals and measures

Qualities and Skills

• Experience in curriculum design and data-driven instruction
• A strong  record of success in leading students to ambitious academic growth
• Excellent communication, networking (relationship building), and editing/writing skills
• Effective organization skills, attention to detail, action--‐ and deadline--‐oriented approach
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
• Occasional evening and weekend hours required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s  degree required, demonstrating strong academic achievement, Master’s degree preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a middle or high school setting, ideally in NYC public schools
• Instructional Coaching or experience coaching other teachers is highly preferred
