Job Description:

Medallion Labs is seeking a Sales Manager to drive incremental volume growth (primarily US based, secondarily global) as well as to sustain existing volume growth. The Sales Manager will be responsible for all sales activities from lead generation through close. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for key accounts and the incremental growth from these key accounts. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Business Development and Customer Service teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with Medallion’s vision and values.

Key Accountabilities:

Sales Execution Responsibilities: (60%)

Responsible for the sales of analytical (chemistry, microbiology, shelf life) testing tailored for the food industry to current and potential clients

 Develop a database of qualified leads through avenues such as referrals, telephone canvassing, cold calling, email, and networking

 Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge

 Create and conduct effective proposal presentations that identify prospects business problem, the effects of the problem, and Medallion’s solution to their problem

 Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up

 Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made on a weekly and monthly basis

Account Management Responsibilities: (40%)

Responsible for key strategic accounts as well as accounts that are high potential

 Responsible for all client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue

  Responsible for expanding the footprint of accounts through year-to-year percentage increase in revenue

  Ensure that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner

  Aware and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business

  Oversee and manage large projects conducted by key accounts

  Understanding of company capabilities and service, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client

  Provide regular input on all account activity, including status and call reports on a weekly basis

 

Other Responsibilities:

Participate in annual trade shows

 Assist in the implementation of the company marketing plans

  Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through to the rest of Medallion

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (chemistry, food science, biology preferred)

 2-5 years of experience in sales in the technical sales industry (such as analytical testing, medical/nutritional)

  High degree of aptitude and desire for a career in sales/account management

  Willingness to travel (30% travel)
