Our client located in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Sr. SQA Engineer.

Duties:            

• Implement software quality plans, evaluate quality standards, analyze test results and recommend corrective action
• Work within general practices to develop and implement software quality assurance processes.
• Select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Take a lead role in implementing testing and automation practices
• Effectively communicate status, issues and risks on projects
• Give clear and concise technical presentations across teams
• Work with stakeholders to understand project needs
• Lead the testing efforts on a major component or set of components of a project
• Plan and estimate own tasks and those of others 
• Able to identify required design documents needed in test planning
• Perform all tasks in the capacity of a leader and project manager of a small group of test engineers
• Mentor individuals helping them build technical skills
• Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and stability issues throughout products and propose recommendations
• Identify gaps and deficiencies in current standards or processes and proposes changes to effectively resolve them
• Take an active role in defining user requirements

 Skills:             

• Ability to identify, record and troubleshoot defects effectively
• Ability to generate and implement test plans within current guidelines
• Ability to use programming best practices to create reusable, extensible tests and automation code for a particular product
• Perform tool development and test automation tasks
• Work with development to create the necessary hooks in our products to aid in the creation of automation
• Experience testing networking on windows is necessary. Can have experience either test networks or setting them up, but must have thorough knowledge of windows networking
• Proven success in leading efforts for delivering enterprise-level software
• Ability to write test automation tools and exposure to test automation frameworks
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to technically lead and team and provide guidance in the planning and execution stages
• 3-5 years experience in SQL and other database technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot multi-tiered application including basic network troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills particularly when dealing with cross-functional teams
• Ability to walk through code in at least two of the following technologies: TSQL, ASP.Net, C#, C++, Java, Visual Basic

Education:         

BS or Equivalent, plus 4+ years experience in SQA
