Position Description: 

Auriemma Consulting Group’s Partnerships practice helps companies create payment and lending industry alliances that deliver long-lasting value.  ACG pioneered the partnerships space a quarter century ago.  Since then we have facilitated hundreds of alliances, advising and representing all sides of transactions in the process.  We work across the partnership lifecycle, helping our clients to plan, structure, select, negotiate and manage successful partnership agreements.  We work with a wide variety of Payments industry partnerships, involving:

This role is specifically focused on the portion of our business involving payment processing and servicing of both credit and debit transactions.  The Partnerships Managing Associate would report to a Partnerships Director, and ultimately up to the Managing Director who leads the Partnerships practice.  He/she would be responsible for playing a supporting role in the delivery of client engagements; the development of new business; the maintenance of practice management documents and processes; and the research and analysis underlying industry thought leadership pieces. 

 

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of consulting assignments for clients as part of small project teams
  • Ability to apply subject matter expertise in support of client projects, both taking direction from senior colleagues and providing guidance to junior associates
  • Writing and creation of PowerPoint, Excel and Word presentations and project documents
  • Development, updating and maintenance of market data tracking tools, pipeline reports and prospect lists
  • Supporting the practice business development efforts through research and information gathering about relevant companies and industries, targeted marketing campaigns, warm- and cold-calling efforts to identify appropriate contacts, proposal and client presentation development
  • Participating in meetings with and presentations to clients and external industry players to develop new business, build relationships, provide exposure for ACG, and keep up with industry trends
  • Helping to develop and disseminate industry thought leadership relevant to the Partnerships space in particular, and ACG in general
  • Perform other functions as required and directed

 

Skills Required:

  • 3-5 years of corporate work experience
  • Subject matter expertise and recent experience involving payment transaction processing / servicing providers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in attending and participating in meetings with corporate executives
  • Strong customer centric attitude
  • Ability to listen and have an open mind
  • A strong work ethic, energy and enthusiasm
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Experience or interest in negotiating partnerships, contracts and/or other relevant transactions
  • Experience or interest in developing new business opportunities
  • A collaborative, team-oriented work style
  • Creativity and flexibility
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical capabilities
  • PowerPoint and Word skills to create presentations that effectively communicate complicated concepts/proposals using diagrams and tables to express and support the written content
  • Knowledge and facility with Excel, including the ability to build basic financial models and data tracking workbooks
  • An interest in and ability to conduct effective desktop and telephone research as well as other forms of data gathering
  • An understanding of the Cards and Payments industry
  • A college degree or equivalent experience

 

Work Environment:

  • Must be New York area-based and prepared to work at ACG’s Manhattan offices on a daily basis
  • Limited to moderate travel required, estimate 10-20% of the time, varying based on assignments
  • Must enjoy working in a collaborative, team environment
  • Must be flexible and prepared to work on a variety of project types, in a variety of roles, and with a variety of different colleagues
  • Should bring a do-it-yourself attitude, and an enthusiasm for contributing to the development of a growing consulting business
