I have an opportunity with my leading client and the details are as follows:

Position: SQL developer Architect

Location – Downtown Chicago, IL

Duration – 18+ Months+

Requirements:

• Expert level of knowledge and experience with SQL server 2000-2008 R2
• Expert level troubleshooting application issues communicating with SQL includes end point security, communications protocols, understanding of how SQL communicates, and how firewall, port assignments need to be set
• High level understanding of EMC SAN cx380, how block size, RAID level, number of disk, affects performance, SQL indicators to look at to gauge I/O performance
• Good understanding on VMware Sphere 5, and how to optimize for SQL server 2008 R2, virtual performance counters, bottleneck indicators, all the basic tricks
• Understanding of application table structures, in depth understanding of indexes to work with developers and help performance tune queries, review, optimize as well as pin execution plans
• Effectively write TSQL, stored procedures, functions, CTE's
• Clear understanding of the CDC, and CT, and when to use each
• Effective use of all DBCC commands and know all the basics
• Recovery models, different backup types, and how to leverage that to reduce disk, as well as how to speed up backup times using multiple backup paths
• Provide Disk sizing recommendations based on growth patterns to predict growth 1 year out per database 800 databases or so ranging for 20 MB to 2 TB
• Expert level understanding of AD and using windows authentication groups combined with SQL schema security
• Expert level replication architecture understanding
• High level of disk and sub system I/O understanding and how to increase I/O throughput with multi path multi LUN designs
• Expert level understanding of SQL Clustering, MSCS, quorum as well as N+ 1 Architectures
• Expert level understanding of SQL table partitioning, partition schemes, partition functions, and how to load balance this across multiple LUNS
• Expert level understanding of the SQL relational and storage engine, SGAM, GAM, IAM, how the optimizer works, how a query processes.


Wants for Client:
• Understanding of the concepts of Kerberos
• Experience providing Client with hardware recommendations to support the application architecture
• Experience providing Client consolidation recommendations to reduce SQL licensing
• Expert level understanding of Reporting Services, power pivot, report modeling a plus
• Expert level knowledge of SSIS, ETL, large scale loads 9 TB +, stream line parallel loop tasks and refactor TSQL to reduce load times
• Expert level understanding of window internals , registry, file system, security, memory permissions, policies related to SQL
• ODBC, OLEDB setup and configuration on 32/64 systems, Oracle basics, SQL plus, troubleshooting connectivity issues, TNSNAMES... and how SSIS works with each
• Experience with tuning and monitoring with SCOM 2007, Idera and/or Quest SQL Foglight toolsets
• Expert or above average SSAS knowledge and experience
