Job Description

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Perform various functions within the collateral management operations team, such as:

 

  • Perform pre-margin call checks on trade and collateral data related to mtm and portfolio variances, price variance and collateral balance variance checks.
  • Work closely with our offshore team regarding collateral balance reconciliations and other exception based reporting.
  • Set up new client profiles and update and maintain existing client information on the Valuations system
  • Prepare manual valuation statements for products that are not yet automated within a valuations system
  • Manage the Valuations e-mailbox, respond to client questions and queries and provide a superior level of client service
  • Liaise with traders, sales, operations and finance personnel as appropriate to verify accuracy of valuations provided, rate sources used, trade bookings & post trade adjustments
  • Prepare several daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports as they relate to margin activity.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Decision-Making Responsibility:

  • Required to review requests for the Client Valuations team to support new businesses or product types. This involves identifying the business requirements and working with management and IT to identify tactical and strategic systems solutions as well as manual work-arounds
  • Review the current processes, identify control gaps and potential improvements and reengineer to address the issues
  • Performs according to prescribed procedures.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Familiarity with OTC Derivative Products, Foreign Exchange and Precious Metals back and middle office functions.
  • Solid understanding of ISDA CSA and other margin related documentation
  • In depth knowledge related to the valuation of OTC derivative products
  • Knowledge of vanilla equity, bond and derivative instruments and experience in dealing with credit derivative instruments and structured products
  • Strong knowledge of cash and non-cash settlement processes
  • Strong numerical / statistical background
  • The candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and be completely reliable
  • Ability to multi task and work under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective team player
  • Good Microsoft Office Skills with an emphasis on excel knowledge
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in Collateral Management, experience with Algo Collateral Management system is a plus.
  • College degree required
  • Series 99
  • Series 7, 63 is a plus
