DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs advanced administrative work that supports the Assistant Director of Commercial Underwriting and his department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Development of executive level presentations and training materials.
- Compiles and analyzes data, researches and prepares complex reports, charts, and graphs.
- Maintains calendars and appointments.
- Distributes various weekly reports to management team.
- Maintains and updates spreadsheets, databases, and meeting notes.
- Assist Assistant Director as requested in monitoring department projects and staff assignments by keeping track of allocated work assignments and following up on established deadlines.
- Creates and maintains accurate computer and hard-copy files.
- Assists in conducting daily administrative activities.
- Performs special assignments of a highly confidential nature.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in using the Internet.
- Advanced skills using PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word (MS Office 2007).
- Ability to obtain and organize information.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to create spreadsheets, compose correspondence and create reports.
- Ability to conduct oneself professionally with excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact with all levels of organization.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED
- Two years of experience as an administrative assistant in a corporate setting. College education may substitute for experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree
- Four years of experience as Administrative Assistant in corporate setting
- Event/Meeting planning experience
