Data warehouse/ ETL Tester
Location: Chicago, IL 
Duration: 6+ Months

Test Analyst should have testing knowledge in the data warehousing area with following skills/ responsibilities.
  
- Be able to design, develop and implement test plans, test cases, test scripts/ SQLs using requirements/ reference materials
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle (free hand SQL with Complex joins), SQL design and ETL testing in the Data warehouse and Data mart environment
- Experience in creating test harness, scripts & data validation scripts using SQL Scripting 
- Knowledge of ETL testing process including Type1 and Type2 changes 
- Have UNIX and scripting knowledge
- Have experience with vendor interface testing
- Knowledge of relational, star schema, dimensional data models 
- Understanding of data rollups/aggregation, data standardization and slowly changing dimensions 
- Knowledge of QA process and testing methods and techniques in a DW / BI environment is needed
- Work with technology leads to identify the appropriate data for testing 
- Assist developers and technical support staff in identifying and resolving problems 
- Facilitate resolution and communication of issues and decisions 
- Assess and revise test sequence and scope based upon dependencies and / or changes in design 
- Communicate status, issues, risks, test results and defects to Test Lead and the team with appropriate level of detail on time
- Reconcile test results from different tests and different groups 
- Establish working relationships with vendors and development project team members. 
- Manage individual workload and deliver to agreed upon timelines
- Perform knowledge transfer as needed 
- Demonstrate ability to work in team environment and help resolve issues 
- Be flexible and a result oriented individual who can be a self motivator.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze design, code, and data problems 
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both orally and in writing, while also articulating and translating technical language to non-technical customers 
- College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience 
- Knowledge of Mercury Test Director and/or Rational ClearQuest repositories 
- College degree with 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience
