A leading renewable energy developer requires a full time Commercial Contracts Manager (based in the South East but with regular travel across UK) to join the well established and growing construction team. Reporting to the Construction Director, and working alongside the existing Contracts Manager, the Commercial Contracts Manager shall provide leadership and support in all aspects of commercial, contractual and risk management associated with the preparation, negotiation and delivery of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contracts and associated project financing for renewable energy projects including, but not limited to, onshore wind farms.
Responsibilities
As part of the senior management team, the Commercial Contracts Manager shall:
Contribute to the strategic growth of the company's construction activities
Deliver the business development of other construction management opportunities
Liaise closely with Construction Contract and Project Managers for specific renewable energy projects to ensure that the following are prepared, negotiated and delivered in accordance with the above vision:
- Main turnkey contracts including supply and operation of renewable energy plant
- Preparation of accurate construction budgets; procurement strategies and programmes (with associated assessment of commercial risks).
Requirements
A higher education qualification in a relevant discipline (such as, but not limited to, engineering or construction management)
Extensive experience within a similar role in a related industry
Proven knowledge of UK legislation and regulations in relation to infrastructure construction
Awareness of key HSQE legislation related to construction
Strong communication, leadership and negotiation skills
Evidence of ongoing professional development and training (including construction law and risk management)
An understanding of project finance and procurement of renewable energy technology is a plus
