Job Description
Nature & Scope: Master Production Scheduler is responsible for managing detailed maintenance and change control of the master schedule, while providing, maintaining, and supporting plant-wide planning services to support customer demand in a cost and resource-effective manner. Other responsibilites/duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Formulating a master schedule, maintaining changes within the schedule, and handling all matters required to ensure on-time delivery
  • Evaluates all sales orders and forecasts to determine optimum production schedule
  • Maintains databades and web-based pages crucial for changeover and production workload schedule
  • Identify any capacity constraints in tooling and/or production and make recommendations to the Operations Manager
  • Continually evaluates safety stock levels for changes and/or improvements
  • Evaluates and maintains stocking levels at the most economically balanced level and/or at the direction of management
  • Maintains MSDS database
  • Maintains manufacturing process monitoring system

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Business discipline and/or combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of related professional experience in production planning and writing master schedules
  • Exceptional computer skills, particularly with MS Applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other Windows-based business software such as MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong background in inventory control and management
  • Exposure to and understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methodologies
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, for successful interaction across multiple internal departments, and with a broad range of personnel
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple responsibilities/projects/deadlines simultaneously
