Job Description
The Director, Information Services plans, directs, and manages the IS Department in order to ensure the development and implementation of cost-effective systems and efficient computer operations to meet current and future company needs and requirements. The individual provides companywide direction in areas of policy and planning for data processing and related functions (communications, office systems, etc.)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and exerting strategic control over existing and new technologies
- Extensive experience with IT financial planning, budget allocation, application/infrastructure project implementation and management
- Strong experience with ITIL methodologies, and development of service level agreements related to the management of IS support services
- Analyzes the business requirements of different departments and conducts feasibility studies to determine the best use of technical resources
- Liaise with executive team members regarding IS benchmarks, existing systems analytics, and present plans for infrastructure/software application upgrades
- Point of contact for negotiation of all external vendor relations including: staffing, product service agreements, consultative services
- Plans and controls departmental staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities to ensure that they are consistent with the business plan of the company
- Directs the design, development, and maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software and networks to meet management’s information needs
- Establishes IS policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources
- Administers the department’s expense budget within budgetary guidelines to contribute to cost-effective operation of the company
- Selects, develops and motivates qualified staff to effectively carry out department functions and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills
- Maintains knowledge of developments in the area of systems and hardware and incorporates new developments into future systems of the corporation
- Oversees technical management of the company internet and intranet websites
- Ensure the security of the network and company data

Required Skills
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree in IS-related field
- 7+ years’ management experience leading a large enterprise IS department
- Strong understanding of MS Server 2000/2003/2008, SQL Server 2005/2008, VMware ESX, Hyper V, SharePoint 2007/2010, Active Directory, IIS, and MS Exchange 2007/2010
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate conflict resolution
- Requires ability to work flexible schedule to cover multiple shifts
- Promotes customer service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Responsibility for all aspects of IS management
- Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
- Participative management style; advocate of team concept
- Results and people oriented, but have sound judgment; ability to balance other business considerations; service oriented, but assertive/persuasive
