Continuous Improvement Manager to $125K + bonus

General Function:
The position will drive improvements across the entire business with an emphasis on the operational performance of the five manufacturing plants. The Continuous Improvement manager (CIM) will partner with each of the key operational managers to identify specific objectives (safety, quality, service, capacity, cost reduction, margins, etc.) and plan the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) elements needed to achieve those objectives.
The CIM will be responsible for WCM training and the development of pillar champions as well as green and black belts. He/she will be a resource to overcome obstacles in team projects, will communicate successes across the business and will challenge leaders to achieve more.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities with key operational managers.
Train managers and pillar champions on the WCM implementation roadmap
Develop green belts and black belts in the plants
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects and kaizens
Monitor, support and encourage the progress of each project
Develop and publish reports of the progress and results of each project
Stay current on continuous improvement techniques
Problem Solving:
Leads improvement activities using standard, proven continuous improvement techniques. These activities, by their nature, explore areas that are often not understood by participants and require creativity and the ability to select effective tools/techniques to match the need and complete the project.
Knowledge:
oBachelor degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline.
o10 years of experience in manufacturing, either continuous or discrete, preferably both
oCertified black belt or MBB
oDemonstrated experience leading Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing facility, training pillar champions, leading and completing at least two successful projects and guiding others to complete theirs.
oCompetent with MS Office products, MS Project and experience with Minitab or JMP.
oAble to travel up to 50% of the time
oAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
oAble to lead teams, include input form all team member and mold divergent opinions into one common direction.
oEffective public speaker to groups of up to 25 people.
