Primary objectives

  • To work with discerning clients and understand design requirements
  • Work closely with the client to build concept
  • Project Manager the process through to handover

Key responsibilities

You will be working closely with the client, design team, M&E, Contractors and Subcontractors, so your communication skills must be strong.

You are responsible for delivering the project on time and within budgets, so you will have to use your key organizational skills to co-ordinate the process with minimal disruption.  You will be liaise and coordinating all internal and external consultants.

Our client’s forte is commercial offices. They provide a whole package from concept design through to construction and handover. You will be working with international clients who are household names themselves.

Detailed description

You will be the Project Leader of the entire Interior Design process, right through to handover and the ‘moving in’ period for the client.  You must have excellent communication skills (average just will not do). Your design background means you will have the appreciation for technical aspects of the project including related regulations.

You will be running multiple developments at one time, so must be highly organized. Your strong co-ordination skills mean you will be competent with creating schedules and programes.  You will work closely with all consultants (internal/external) and the Construction Manager.

Your technical design experience means you understand costings, pricings, as well as material costs, whilst maintaining a very high standard of quality in both design and specification.

Our client seeks a solid PM who has integrity and dedication to stick to the schedule and direct the team.  You will be encouraged to deliver your own creative input at all times.

Skills and experience required

  • You must have a design background in either Architecture or Interior Design.
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role and 7-8 years post graduate/diploma experience
  • You will have efficient scheduling and programming skills
  • You must be able to understand material costs
  • You should have strong and concise presentation skills
  • You must be able to lead and coordinate consultants
  • You should have experience of working on Commercial office projects. Other project experience such as banks, retail will also be considered, but some office experience is desirable.
