Job Description

No Visa's. Experienced NP needed to join a sleep group. Position Classification: Nurse Practitioner Department: Sleep Center Reports to: Intensivist Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Certified M.D and Intensivist Practice Manager Position Summary: Diagnoses and treats patients with Sleep disorders. Delivers a broad range of general diagnostic and therapeutic services. Promotes ethical and professional standards by providing professional leadership for Sleep Medicine Services. Assists in the exploration and research of potential new services and/or the expansion of existing services to improve the services provided. Provides assistance in the provision of orientation, training and in-service education to staff and physicians. Assists in the development, implementation and review of policies and procedures to assure compliance with all regulatory agencies. Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and reports. Works with Physicians, Sleep Center Director, Practice Manager and/or Vice president of Medical Affairs to ensure safe, effective and efficient quality of care for patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ? Treats outpatient sleep disorder patients. ? Responsible for new patient evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders; o Outpatient history and physical o Patient evaluation testing o Patient follow up visits o CPAP compliance clinic o Patient and family education o Serve as a point of contact for sleep disorder patient services. ? Provides sleep services for patients to physicians and others as needed. ? Shares in the establishment, implementation and review of quality review activities and monitors. ? Reviews quality reports on a regular basis and provides analysis, conclusions and recommendations. ? Provides in-service training and education for clinical and non-clinical staff as needed. ? Maintains membership on the Hospital & Health Care Services Medical Staff through the credentialing and reappointment process. ? Actively participates in Sleep Center and service line meetings. ? Performs all evaluations in a competent manner and completes all dictation and clinical documentation in a thorough and competent manner, meeting all requirements of regulatory agencies and the medical records requirements of Reid Hospital. ? Actively participates in the analysis of and development of cost effective programs for the management of sleep disorder patients using LEAN methodologies. ? Actively participates in the marketing of sleep services and provides services in outreach areas as requested by RPA and Hospital. ? Provides care in a manner consistent with patient experience expectations and CARE standards.
