Performs responsible clerical and technical work involving the preparation, review, and/or maintenance
of fiscal or related records, such as invoices, purchase orders, tax returns, and applications, considers and follows federal, state a local laws, codes, policies and procedures to perform work. Work is performed under the regular supervision of Director or designee. Work direction may be given to Office Assistant and Administrative Support Assistant I.

-Reconciles invoice quantities and charges with purchase orders;
-Prepares bills for customer service accounts
-Audits paid invoices for correct coding and for reconciliation with voucher register
-Provides financial data or information to the general public
-Assembles and verifies statistical, accounting and financial data
-Handles inquiries or complaints from the general public
-Review, audits and approves tax forms and applications for local, state, federal and/or personal property returns for completeness and accuracy
-Performs computations and post to statistical and other records
-Maintains office files, account records and a variety of other records
-Assembles and transmits payroll data
-Prepares/balances agency deposits
-Prepares vendor invoices for payment, obtains quotes, and prepares and codes purchase orders/requisitions
-Operates typewriter, calculator, micro-computer, computer terminal and other standard office equipment
-Posts information to automated procurement system
-Creates simple spreadsheets
-Maintains filing systems
-Handles petty cash
-Operates cash register


- Quickbooks
-General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods
-General knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
-General knowledge of modern office equipment including micro-computers and computer terminals
-Some knowledge of applicable laws and codes pertaining to bookkeeping principles
-Some knowledge of routine accounting principles
-Ability to maintain financial records and to prepare reports and statements
-Ability to make mathematical computations quickly and accurately
-Ability to post accounts with speed and accuracy
-Ability to operate efficiently a variety of office machines
-Ability to deal effectively with customers, coworkers and the general public
-Ability to supervise subordinate workers


 Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by courses in bookkeeping or accounting, and 2-3 years experience in account maintenance and financial recordkeeping.
