We are seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student to work as a part-time research assistant in the Diabetes Prevention and Remission group focusing on inflammation-mediated insulin resistance within the CVMED research unit. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must be working towards a BS or MS degree in the biomedical sciences or related field, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary focus will be on execution of biochemical and cell-based assays to support the identification and characterization of lead compounds. Responsibilities will include conducting in vitro and ex vivo experiments to generate in-depth knowledge of compound mechanism and relevance to human cell biology, as well as basic laboratory duties, such as ordering/stocking/preparing lab supplies and reagents, and maintaining lab equipment.
