Job Description

Data Analyst Job Family (Databases)

 

Job Purpose: Analyze data in order to identify and address data issues as data is validated, cleaned up and mapped from multiple sources for maximum leveragability within marketing database environment to meet evolving campaigning and reporting requirements

 

Key Result 1: Analytical Data Expertise

 

Analyze data and recommend if and how to incorporate to support marketing initiatives

 

 

Key Tasks

Investigate source systems to locate and understand existing subject areas across enterprise

Demonstrated ability in performing data analysis and profiling to identify trends and confirm data designs

Ability to quickly assess the impact of data through key downstream systems

Develop and maintain process for capturing and maintaining metadata from all data sources, Develop data migration strategies

Modify and query data for product owner

Assist staff with data enhancement analysis

Assist in maintenance of documentation of the data to assist users in finding the correct data for their informational needs

Communicate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and subject area architects to determine functional needs that drive data layer requirements

Manage query queue from Marketing

Manage proactive outbound communications to educate and inform Marketing with goal of more relevant, targeted, timely marketing communications and improved campaign results

Work Experience & Education:

  • BS in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years experience with relational database programming or business analysis

 

General Knowledge and Technical Skills:

  • · Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL programming;
  • · Proficient with all versions of the Windows operating systems
  • Proficient with software packages, such as MS Office (especially Access and Excel), Adobe products, PL/SQL Developer, SQL Plus; knowledge of XML editors and various text editors a plus.
