Job Description
The Plant Refinery Engineer is responsible for recommending courses of action and technical solutions to meet daily production and budgetary goals, environmental compliance limits and high standards of process safety and equipment integrity.

This position is responsible for refinery and facility engineering, conception and implementation of capital projects.

Work with operations group to optimize refinery processes, including both distillation and hydroprocessing.
Troubleshoot process and equipment problems involving rotating equipment, vacuum systems, fire heaters/exchangers, tankage, instrumentation, waste water treatment, etc.
Work with management to develop capital improvement projects including budgeting, justification, management, and reporting.
Develop and manage the facilities Process Safety Management (PSM) program including coordinating HAZOPs, mechanical integrity, management of change, etc.
Manage facility maintenance work and budget, including planning turn-arounds. Identify immediate and short term maintenance requirements.
Participation in shutdown planning and analysis for improvements in shutdown efficiency and cost reduction and coordination with production requirements.
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
5+ years of Refinery Experience is preferred but open to Petrochemicals or related as well. Experience at a plant as a Project/Process/Maintenance Engineer or Technical Service experience from an oilfield chemical type company would be relevant.
Should have solid hands on, equipment/operations troubleshooting skills. Background in rotating equipment specification and troubleshooting a plus.
Project Management experience including conception and implementation
Relevant unit operations include: distillation, fractionation, hydrotreating, stripping and thin film evaporation.
Ability to work on multiple projects successfully
Working knowledge of requirements for PSM under OSHA regulations as applicable to petroleum refining.
Prefer local candidates but may provide some assistance to people in the region.
