Job Description
The Client is one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world, with activities in more than 130 countries.
The Client has been one of the largest players on the Norwegian continental shelf for more than forty years. Its Norwegian headquarter is located in Stavanger.
For this client, we need a Instrument Engineer who will:
Be in charge of monitoring the engineering related to his/her area of design.
Ensure that engineering studies comply with applicable Norwegian rules and regulations, company HSE and QA/QC requirements and applicable general specifications.
Ensure the compliance of the work with project specifications, procedure exceptions/deviations.
Ensure the compliance of the work with applicable codes, standards and best engineering practice with the aim of reducing investments as much as possible without negatively influencing the required level of quality.
follow and check the engineering instrumentation work performed by the onshore contractor(s) and to give project?s comments or approval as required
coordinate the work with the different disciplines as well as operations to define and implement all the requirements in the instrument control system
Participate in technical clarification meetings and bid evaluations.
Prepare data and commentary as required for the internal weekly and monthly reports.
Be in charge of the quality of the engineering studies, fabrication and integration of the Power From Shore contractor in his discipline as well as his deliverables.
Monitor the implementation of the design through the construction phase and assist the Commissioning Manager in the development of the commissioning procedures.
Activity:
To verify and comment on the engineering documents submitted by the Onshore contractor, sub contractor(s) and ensure that they comply with all technical requirements.
To answer questions and queries, taking into account the contractual environment of the Onshore package(s).
To review questions and queries regarding exemption or modification requests.
To check the quality of the engineering documents prepared by the contractor, and to comment on and/or approve these promptly, in accordance with the contract procedures and requirements.
To anticipate problems in his discipline and propose solutions or optimisations to the Onshore Engineering Lead.
To participate in any technical or coordination meeting necessary to fulfil the job responsibility.
To communicate with the Onshore contractor(s) to solve day-to-day problems.
To interface with overall Topside/ICSS, Operations, SURF, Gassco, BKK, Norwegian Properties and governmental bodies.
To liaise with other disciplines to ensure consistency of the works.
To report regularly on engineering progress to the Onshore Engineering Lead, highlighting critical problems.
To ensure that the Onshore contractor(s)? resources and organisation are adequate (and competent) to carry out the discipline engineering works.
To ensure satisfactory performance of vendors for equipment in his/her own discipline and report to the Engineering Lead.
To participate in HAZOP, HAZID and PTR reviews.

Qualifications / Experience:
Previous experience in the context of large projects (with knowledge of instrumentation and ICSS)
Knowledge about onshore design requirement from national regulations
Fluency in English (speaking and writing)
Good communication skills
