Located in Greenville, South Carolina, our client, a leading global rail, transit and industrial systems developer and manufacturer is urgently in a position to hire a Technical Product Manager - Ports.  The successful candidate will apply their knowledge and experience from the Port industry and manage products and customer projects for the business

Job Summary:

Subject matter expert for the Port Industry product lines and their applicable market segments

Interface with customers to establish, negotiate and manage product and system technical requirements

Assess potential application of existing products and/or services to offer solutions to meet customer needs

Identify and specify new products and/or services to meet customer needs

Manage projects from inception through delivery, including project management and coordination with sales, manufacturing and customers

Interface with design engineering resources to develop new products and modify existing products to fulfill the needs of customers

Provides technical support to customers and assists with field installations and onsite support

Use technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales

Provides expert local resource for product offerings of our global sister companies for domestic customers

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

5+ years related experience in the port industry

Strong business acumen, product ownership and entrepreneurial spirit

Technical Product Management or Application Engineering experience

Familiar with general manufacturing, machining and fabrication practices

Strong analytical and conceptual skills and mechanical aptitude; electrical a plus

Strong computer skills with technical and office software experience

Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively with a high attention to detail

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Travel up to 20% required
