Stellar Recruitment is partnered with a privately-held exploration and production company based in Denver, CO to recruit a SENIOR SHALE GEOLOGIST who will be an individual contributor to a team that is:

• Led by a very strong, well-known management team developing shale plays
• Has a strong financial platform to acquire, develop and explore properties
• Negotiable $150k+ base range, bonus targets, stock incentives and benefits

As the SENIOR SHALE GEOLOGIST, reporting to the Geoscience Manager, you will work on geological projects focused on the Barnett and Marcellus Shale plays. Other duties include:

• Work on both new and established field development projects
• Utilize geological data to evaluate viability of drilling locations
• Interpret data to determine subsurface geology and economic viability
• Develop geological models of the geological structure and rock characteristics
• Produce and present geological maps and reports
• Plan location and trajectory of development wells and prepare well proposals
• Assist with annual development of exploration plans
• Travel to site to collect information from well data

A successful candidate will meet or exceed the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Master’s Degree is also preferred
• Minimum of 10+ years oil and gas industry experience within an owners team
• Experience with the Barnett, Marcellus or other unconventional plays required
• Horizontal drilling experience required
• Capability with seismic interpretation and workstation use
• Proficiencies with Petra and/or other geological mapping software
