Job Description

My client is one of the world's foremost proprietary trading firms, in need of a superb Unix Engineer.

The Role:

  • Working in a collaborative environment, with excellent internal teams, to maintain the firm's crucial UNIX infrastructure systems
  • Maintain the infrastructure environment and contribute to the evolution of existing architecture, to serve the firm's needs

The Required Skills:

  • 5-8 Years Experince
  • UNIX Expertise is essential
  • Superb scripting ability with Shell (Perl and Ruby also very desirable, as is Python)
  • The flexibility and analytical thinking to work in multiple business areas, handling requirements as the business/firm demands
  • A passion for creating useful, practical technology. Tech at my client's firm affects daily operations in multiple areas of the company, a deep enthusiasm for technology and servicing these varied needs is essential
  • Ability to work with best-of-breed open source software
  • Excellent people skills and communication, to fit into the collaborative and supportive work environment
