Our client has an immediate need for an Interaction Designer to join their UX team in San Francisco for a 3-6 month contract to hire role.  

 

The company is located downtown and is lauded for its collaborative and innovative nature.  This is a great opportunity to join a very solid start-up with new/fresh ideas and positive changes on the horizon.  This would be the "best of both worlds" as start-up with the backing of a large, established parent company with widely recognized brand.  Great travel perks once it goes perm!!

 

You will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great solution to tweaking pixels right before launch, and you'll work with multiple brands across the company. You will be expected to utilize your full range of interaction design, visual design, technology skills, and knowledge of the ecommerce space to translate new project concepts into a coherent and engaging design and experience that meet business objectives and the needs of the customer

 

Specifically:

**Understand and advocate for the needs of online travel customers.

**Communicate interface design elements through the organization.

**Ensure that the product is delivered on time and with a consistent, user-driven design.

**Working closely with product managers and a product development team to define product direction and UX requirements.

**Create and revise information architecture and interaction design documents, including: Conceptual IA documentation, site maps, user scenarios, prototypes, wireframes, flows, site standards.

**Facilitate usability research for new and existing projects, and accommodate findings into your designs.

 

What they'd like to see:

**3+ years experience designing consumer oriented web-based interfaces

**Knowledge of user-centered design principles, web design best practices and web standards

**Understanding of complex e-commerce businesses, preferably with travel industry experience

**Demonstrated ability to define and lead strategic and complex transactional interfaces

**Demonstrated ability to develop big ideas, and execute flawlessly against them in a highly collaborative environment

**Demonstrated experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions

**Knowledge of prototyping or wireframing tools (i.e., Axure, Visio, Omnigraffle)

**Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet aggressive deadlines

**Good communicator, capable of collaborating with team members who work in other disciplines; you can downplay the ego and be a team player ? don?t worry, we all know you?re awesome and will tell you regularly

**You can roll with the punches and you don?t need a lot of oversight, and that's your preference
