Job Description

The Software Development Manager will be responsible for leading a team of talented software engineers to develop compelling and scalable web applications for mass notification. You will play a key role in the architecture of the product and be responsible for timely delivery of releases with high quality. In addition, you will be responsible for continuous improvements to the product architecture, software development process and quality processes. Our software covers a wide range of platforms including desktops and mobile (iOS and Android) and you will work on multiple cutting-edge technologies including GIS and messaging at a large scale. Most importantly, your team will be developing software than can potentially save lives.

Responsibilities Manage and lead a team of software engineers to deliver quality software on time Build, own, and deliver to the release plan Improve and develop team processes and engineering practices Work closely with the Product Management on release planning, product delivery and product success metrics Manage all phases of project life cycle: analysis, design, develop, test, debug, deploy, maintain and update Coordinate product release with Production Ops, readiness, and program management teams Work with our professional services to support new and existing customer implementations Keep up-to-date with new technologies and architectures, application design patterns, for potential implementation within companies platforms Experience Minimum of 7 years of experience as a software engineer with a minimum of 2 years of technical leadership experience Proven track record in designing, developing and maintaining scalable web applications on .NET and MS SQL server platform Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills including working knowledge of core libraries and design patterns Ability to discover and exploit 3rd party components to meet product requirements when available Experience in analyzing/resolving performance issues and refactoring design/code for scalability of large application Familiarity with processes and tools for SDLC including Windows 2003/2008, IIS, version control, issue tracking, and continuous integration environment Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills Strong project planning and organizational abilities Desired Experience with internationalization Experience with Agile methodologies Education BS or MS in Computer Science or related field Microsoft certification a plus (MCPD/MCAD/MCSD/ any other)
