Application Support Analyst

Skills: JAVA/J2EE (servlet, jsp, java beans), C/Visual C++, application support or development experience

Summary

Our client is a global leader in the payments industry utilizing leading technology and a highly skilled workforce. They are looking to add an Application Support Analyst to their team in Knoxville. This person will work closely with other staff and key business users across the organization. Therefore, you must have the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff in this role. You will need to be familiar with the supported applications, which use a variety of technologies, and provide support for them on a daily basis. This support will include reviewing reported problems; prioritizing and researching these problems; identifying resolutions; resolution implementation consisting of code modifications, unit/system testing involving business and/or systems personnel, and activities necessary to the release of the modifications to the production environment. This is a 3 month contract to hire opportunity. Fluency in Spanish is a big plus!

Responsibilities:

• Document processes and procedures required for support.
• Learn new applications and functionality as required.
• Participate as needed on special projects involving implementation of a new tools or applications.
• Participation in the On-Call rotation two weeks at a time as required.

Qualifications:

• JAVA/J2EE (servlet, jsp, java beans) expertise (2+ years of dedicated application support or development experience)
• C/Visual C++ expertise (1+ years of dedicated application support or development experience)
• Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL 10g (1+ years of application support or development experience using this component)
• Working knowledge of UNIX commands and basic shell scripting (1+ years of application support experience on this OS platform)
• Perl and VB Scripting (1+ years of application support or development experience)
• Javascript (1+ years of application support or development experience)
• Bachelor of Science degree or Equivalent Work Experience.
• Must be comfortable working in ambiguous and / or stressful situations.
• Must be self-motivated and know when to seek guidance.
• Flexibility, ability to change priorities quickly, and capacity to handle multiple tasks.
