About the Job

Our client has a requirement for a Senior Java Developer for a three month contract opportunity.  The position is located inToronto.

Role

The ideal candidate will be working on an upgrade of WebSphere for the direct channels group.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

• Develop and host web enabled and database driven applications in Java.
• Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver solutions.
• Design and develop quality solutions for systems issues consistent with project objectives.
• Develop, implement and maintain solutions that maximize system availability.
• Provide periodic scope assistance

Requirements or Qualifications

Qualified Candidates will have:

• Experience with Web Services ( JAX-WS, JAX-RPC, Apache Axis) and Web (Servlet, JSP, JSF)
• Experience with JDBC, JPA, Hibernate and Spring Framework
• Experience applying object oriented design best practices, including SOA and WSDL/xsd design
• Solid knowledge of WebSphere
• Experience with MQ or IMS connect
• Experience with Java SE, Java EE, XML (JAXP, JAXB), and ant
• Experience with Eclipse RPC and/or Lotus Expeditor an asset
• DBMS knowledge in DB2 a strong asset, but experience with other databases an asset as well.
• Proficiency with MS Office PC software applications (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Java Certifications would be considered an strong asset
