Itron Inc., currently has a job opening for an experienced Embedded Software Design Engineer in its West Union, SC. facility.  This is an opportunity to join the team focused on the firmware, hardware and embedded design group focused on the communication piece of the smart meter products. 

The candidate will work in a team atmosphere on new product development projects in the R&D department.  We are looking for an individual with solid knowledge in writing software for embedded systems with exposure to embedded protocol stack development for RF communications.  People who like challenges and are motivated to develop embedded software for wireless communications technology in a cooperative team environment are encouraged to apply.

 

-        Design/develop embedded software for line of RF communications modules for electricity meter products including…

-        Device driver development, operating system setup, physical layer communications

-        Participates in the extensive test effort required to produce "bug-free" software

-        Designs for Manufacturing from start to finish on new designs
