Prestigious Professional Services Firm is seeking a SharePoint Business Analyst.  Individual will work between the business and technical side with Project Managers, Architects, Developers and Users on the full life-cycle implementation of SharePoint.  Individual must have a  full understanding of SharePoint features including content deployment, managed metadata, and SharePoint Designer. Will know how to configure and design SharePoint sites, Infopath forms and workflows.  Looking  for someone who knows and understands out-of-the-box, and custom web-parts from a functional SharePoint perspective. Good job stability, soft skills, and documentation experience is  needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The SharePoint Business Analyst will play a central role in the complete SharePoint solution lifecycle including sales, design, configuration and delivery of engagements.

Teaming with other professionals in the Software Services practice, the SharePoint Business Analyst’s primary responsibilities are capturing user requirements through collaboration with the client, designing and configuring SharePoint solutions, leading and participating in testing sessions, and coordinating final implementation of the application based on client and subject-matter expert feedback.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    Knowledge of system implementation concepts (requirements gathering, configuration, methodologies, testing and documentation) for full lifecycle projects from solution definition through development, implementation and rollout.  Familiarity with either SharePoint MOSS 2007 or 2010

    Proven ability to team with Project Managers and Architects to communicate progress and risks with client personnel for purposes of decision making

    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

    Understanding of SharePoint features including content deployment, managed metadata and SharePoint Designer

    Familiarity with design and configuration of SharePoint collaboration sites, InfoPath forms and workflow

    Familiarity with the concept of Enterprise Social Collaboration

    Experience with design and configuration of site collection strategies for content types, templates, security, workflow and search

    Experience with design and configuration of portal, publishing and collaboration sites

    Experience with selecting and implementing third party solutions, plug-ins and custom web parts for SharePoint

    Expertise in devising SharePoint solutions that are part of a larger enterprise-wide integrated architecture

    Demonstrated ability to stay current with knowledge management best practices, existing and emerging technology platforms and collaboration/social engineering industry trends

    Ability to know when SharePoint is not the right solution for a problem and can communicate alternatives effectively

    Familiarity with the concepts of information architecture and user-centered design

EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS

 

    Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g. MIS, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree) required

    3+ years of experience

    Significant portion of above experience working for a technology consulting firm or software product company

    SharePoint related certifications (Exams 70-542, 70-573, 70-630, 70-667, or 77-886, ) a plus
