Our client, located in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer for an immediate full-time position.  Details include:

Job Functions:

-Lead and participate in gathering and documenting requirements and functional specifications.

-Design, develop, and maintain software architectures, interfaces, and object-oriented classes in .NET/C# using Visual Studio 2008/2010.

-Design, develop, and maintain web services using .NET Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).

-Design, develop, and maintain utility programs and tools for assisting in the installation and management of the software when deployed.

-Drafting and maintaining of technical documentation: specifications, requirements, user guides

-Monitor the maturity of the current state-of-the-art modular frameworks from Microsoft.

-Note: In addition to the Essential Functions, also performs similar work-related duties as assigned.

-Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Preferred:

-Microsoft C#, .NET 4, WCF, WPF, WIC

-Microsoft Visual Studio 2008/2010

-Microsoft IIS web server environment

-AJAX UI development and debugging experience

-TSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, stored procedures

-Object-oriented class design and implementation

-Multithreaded programming and debugging

-Web services design, programming and debugging

-Analyzing and correcting software performance issues

-Drafting and maintaining software documentation: specifications, requirements, and user guides

-Rapid Application Development (RAD) techniques

-Software and system architectural design, modeling and analysis

-Good planning, organizational, and communications skills

-Self-motivated, inquisitive individual who works well in a small team

Qualifications and Experience:

-Minimum of 8 years of related software development experience, or a combination of education and experience that would enable performance of the full scope of the position

-Bachelors in Computer Science or similar technical degree, Masters a plus

-Travel Requirement, Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

-Occasional overnight travel as required; should not exceed 10-20% of the time
