Our client, located in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Supervisor Application Services for an immediate full-time position.  Details include:

Summary of Position:

Supervise the Enterprise Application Group which is responsible for 90% of the packaged application set at the Firm.  Application areas include but not limited to Financial Applications, HR Applications, Practice Specific Applications, firm?s core application set, Lead and mentor Application Specialists on projects, and help them make sound technical decisions using logic and sound judgment.  Evaluate and recommend new tools, services to enhance attorney productivity.  This position will be dealing with a demanding customer base, to that end should be able to explain complex technical solutions in layman?s terms to those customers.  Supervise a team that is responsible for providing support in application configurations and solve application functionality issues, provide software support to users, as well as mentoring various levels Application Specialists.  Maintain, configure, install, and move computer hardware, and plan and execute minor projects.  Understand, be able to perform, and mentor others in all phases of software integration: Analysis, design, development, modification, and implementation.  Be able to plan Capital Budget Projects from their inception to completion.  Be able to write complex RFP?s, provide departmental metrics for the group, and take them from inception to implementation.  Be able to explain complex technical solutions to senior firm leadership.  Provide status reports on various projects indicating areas of risk and hot spots.  Responsible for the firm?s desktop and the building of that desktop.  Make hardware recommendations.  Responsible for emerging technologies and understand their application for attorneys as well as their usage and use cases.  Insure compliance with licensing agreements and US/International copyright laws. 

Skills:

-Knowledge of specialized legal, business and financial software (i.e. Lexis, Westlaw, Microsoft, IBM, Thomson Financial)

-Ability to manage large groups of diverse products

-Ability to manage and mentor developers of varying levels

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

-In depth knowledge of legal software applications

-In depth knowledge of database management

-In depth knowledge of Document Management systems and their use

-Understand databases and database techniques

-Knowledge of operating systems and networking

-Ability to multi-task

-Ability to work independently and within a team

-Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new technologies and be able to explain them to management

-Solid written and verbal communication skills

-Good organizational skills

-Ability to supervise and mentor various levels of Application Specialists

-Ability to create Enterprise Wide Application Architectures for Various functions

-Ability to explain to senior management complex technical concepts in terms they can relate to.

-Ability to work extended hours as needed

-Ability to travel when needed

Experience:

-2 years of supervising 5-10 Application Specialists

-3-5 years in an international law firm, corporate or professional services environment

-4-year college degree (preferred)

-Microsoft Technologies experience

-Expertise in integration products

-Expertise in Application Deployment Technologies

-Expertise in Document Management Systems

-Experience translating functional specifications into technical specifications.

-Experience in dealing with Senior Management
