Job Description
  • Seeking several mortgage underwriters due to GROWTH!
  • Government experience: FHA/VA/USDA/FNMA/FHMLC
  • Currently located in Lewisville, but moving soon to Irving, TX 75063
  • DE/LAPP is a plus, but NOT required
  • Highly competitive rates and salaries- negotiable
  • Quarterly bonuses: averaging $1,500 per quarter
  • Overtime is available and has not been capped (many people are working 10-20 o/t hours per week)
  • Also seeking: Underwriting Managers
  • Local candidates are preferred, but non-local candidates will also be considered
  • For strong candidates, relocation packages or siging bonuses will be considered
  • Openings in Wholesale, Retail, Direct, Credit Risk, QA/QC
  • TMO experience is a plus
  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred
  • Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of prime underwriting experience, including FHA,VA and agency products
  • VA: LAPP/SAR required
  • Experience with DU system or comparable is required
  • Reviews and underwrites mortgage files to Nationstar Mortgage underwriting guidelines
  • Determines loan conditions on loan files and communicates directly with branch/division personnel to resolve the conditions
  • Underwrites mortgage loan files in compliance with Nationstar Mortgage underwriting guidelines and state and federal reporting guidelines (including RESPA, HMDA, and HOEPA Section 32)
  • Strictly adheres to specified underwriting guidelines to fulfill FHA, VA, and agency loans
  • Verifies all documentation associated with mortgage originations including but not limited to: income, asset, credit, appraisal and title information
  • Effectively communicates required conditions to the branch/division and assists where possible to expedite final approval of the file
  • Promptly and accurately reviews files within specified timelines to issue pre-approvals and final approvals
  • Ensures accurate pricing within established guidelines
  • Ensures accuracy between file, LOS (TMO) and final AUS findings
  • Ensures that appraisal and title insurance are provided by an approved vendor
  • Responsible for meeting productivity, TAT and Quality Control goals as required by management
