Summary: The overall objective of this position is to estimate the cost/sell price for customers purchasing gas compressor packages. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Read specifications and drawings, selecting equipment that will best suit the customer’s application
• Decide what devices, components and equipment and quantities of same are required to complete the estimate
• Determine additional equipment needed to ensure safe operation and accurate quotes (i.e. engine safety shutdowns, batteries, exhaust silencers)
• Decide what suppliers to go to, to obtain pricing and availability of devices, components, and equipment
• Prepare and send client proposals completed with a technical proposal, clarifications, and pricing and delivery 

Required Experience:

• 5-10 years’ experience estimating technical equipment required
• BS Mechanical Engineering required; must keep current on certifications and education
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and equipment
• Must understand application of fabrication techniques
• Experience performing engineering calculations to determine various ratings of equipment
• Experience reading/interpreting electrical specifications and drawings, including electrical symbols
• Able to interpret CAD drawings, i.e. piping and instrumentation diagrams
• Able to extract and interpret technical information from manufacturers’ technical documentation
• Intermediate Excel, Word, and Adobe PDF skills
• Able to specify parameters for torsional and pulsation studies
• Experience with running compressor performance software
