Our client is one of the leading renewable energy developers in the UK and are currently heavily involved in both the onshore and offshore development of Wind Farms in conjunction with the Crown Estate.

They are now seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the offshore market.

Primary responsibilities to include technical evaluation and selection of turbine suppliers for offshore wind projects, leading on O&M, and input to consent applications and engineering design for existing ongoing offshore Wind Farm projects.

The suitable candidate MUST have:

Primary Degree Mechanical Engineering
Chartered or near Chartered Status
3-5 years experience within wind turbine operations and maintenance environment
Experience in the preparation of technical specifications and other technical documents
Knowledge of IEC 61400 design standards
Knowledge of Offshore Access Systems
Knowledge of Condition monitoring
Experience developing O&M strategies
Experience and knowledge of Wind Turbine supply agreements
Understanding of wind turbine technology and issues involved in maximizing turbine availability with a Turbine manufacturer or O&M Contractor
Be a highly motivated, dynamic, self started with proven track record of delivery
Be flexible in terms of working arrangements, international travel may be required as part of the job
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and in particular, Health and Safety issues offshore 
Experience in tender/bid evaluation
Experience in conducting technical and commercial negotiations with wind turbine suppliers etc.
Excellent verbal / written communication skills
Strong report writing skills.
