TASC is seeking qualified Software Developer and Engineer professionals to join our team of diverse individuals in defining the future. The qualified applicant will become part of TASC’s Engineering & Operations Operating Unit. Multiple positions are available with locations in Chantilly, McLean, Tyson's Corner, Reston, and Herndon.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate and assist in the selection and procurement of hardware and software technologies. Manage technical resources (hardware, software, licenses, and services).
- Identify, analyze, define, and coordinate user, customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements.
- Work with stakeholders as well as technical and analytical counterparts to define constraints and develop requirements and concept of operations documentation.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide conceptual design, prototype, and test cycles appropriate to a chosen technical solution.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
TO QUALIFY, CANDIDATES MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE TOP SECRET SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE WITH POLYGRAPH
- Bachelor's Degree in technology related field, with 5+ years of software development work experience.
- Strong work experience in software development & engineering with one of the following: JAVA/J2EE, C++, ASP.NET, .NET, C#, PYTHON, SHAREPOINT or PERL
- Experience with Eclipse, Tomcat and Shell Scripting
- Experience with web services technologies including Stylesheets, JSPs, custom tags, and PHP
- Experience with other web server technologies such as Apache HTTP Server, or WebLogic
- Experience applying software reuse methodologies including object-oriented methods and tools, design tools based on the Universal Modeling Language, Java Applets, Java Swing and XML
- Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, Spring Framework, Struts
- Ability to prepare technical documentation
- Solid oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Ruby on Rails
- Experience with ETL development
- Experience with SharePoint Designer
- Experience with tools such as Subversion, and wikis and blogs
- Experience with tools such as Spring, Hibernate and JUnit
- Strong understanding of IBM Sense-making Analytical Tools and System Integration
- Experience with ActiveMQ and JMS.
- Experience with database design in major Relational Data Management Systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostGres, etc.)
- Experience with Grid computing, MPP environments and Lustre
