JOB DESCRIPTION:
 
Our group leads the discipline of network wide, web analytics on a major web site.  Focus areas include utilizing web analytics techniques to drive better marketing results, providing web analytics guidance to other company marketers, and managing reporting and analytics portals for digital marketing activities on the homepage and beyond. The team has a unique and diverse set of skills ranging from deeply technical knowledge of BI systems design, development, BI layer data modeling, robust website tagging, metrics authoring for raw data aggregation, multi-dimensional clickstream data analysis, Excel data visualization, analysis summarization and presentation, stakeholder management, performance driven digital marketing, and overall business strategy.
 
In this role, you will partner across groups both in the corporate office and around the world to put web analytics into action.  This is a multi-faceted role that encompasses providing hands-on web analytics services to select sites on and managing the reporting platform, an online centralized portal for analysis, scorecards and dashboards. You will interface directly with internal clients to gather business requirements and clarify business questions and use data visualization tools to build out analysis dashboards and provide expert intelligence for your customers.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Dive into an ocean of digital data of multiple sources and dimensions to analyze customer behavior on our site.
Synthesize analysis into logical visualizations that convey meaning from dense tables of data
Exude confidence and instill trust with business stakeholders through excellent communication skills at all levels of the business, sharing expertise and opinions about what should be measured, and how the measurement should be evaluated and be comfortable speaking about web analytics, digital marketing, and statistical analysis of data
Understand data flow from site level events through to collection and into metric formulas
Be able to analyze data quality and correctness in addition to customer behavior (i.e. do the numbers make sense) and be able to triangulate on data points to analyze why data anomalies occur
Understand how to put data and findings into the context of the business
Critical thinking skills to evaluate business requests and validate the importance relative to the business success metrics
 
REQUIRED SKILLS:
 
A passion for web analytics, digging into all angles of digital marketing business analysis, and improving inefficiencies in processes and tools – being generally curious.
5 years of experience in web marketing and/or business analysis
2 years’ experience with advanced web analytics methodologies such as experimentation, segmentation, testing, behavioral analysis, surveys and market research
Proven experience analyzing, designing, and leveraging multi-dimensional data models, preferably in the web analytics space
Extremely detail oriented, process oriented, and organized
Experience working with large volumes of data from disparate data sources, and proven track record for spotting actionable patterns and trends
Deep understanding of database/web/reporting technologies and ability to translate technology to deliver business-facing solutions
Proven experience in building programs where the programs’ stakeholders are from across organizational disciplines and departments
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex situations in clear terms to management and large groups
Ability and immediate instinct to gain context and clarify business owner asks for discrete, data points by gaining context of the business problem at hand and restating the ask as a business question before providing  data and analysis responses
Tool experience:  Excel (expert) | WebTrends and/or Omniture SiteCatalyst (expert) | SQL (intermediate)  and preferred experience with Omniture Insight (formerly Visual Sciences)
Regular Expression syntax expertise a plus
MBA preferred but not required
