Nature & Scope:Client is seeking an entry-level Electrical/Controls Engineer to provide PLC programming, help create company standards/practices, and to take a proactive role in the development of the Controls Department. Responsibilities/duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Interpret functional requirements and create PLC codes and HMI screens
• Review and understand P&ID and electrical schematics
• Create program documentation
• Create electrical schematics and panel layout drawings
• Write short operating instructions and/or manuals
• Interface with customers, as needed

Requirements & Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related engineering field) required
• 1 - 2 years experience in related capacity
• Proficient in PLC programming
• Ability to read, understand, and develop electrical wiring schematics and panel design drawings
• Ability to understand processes and develop sequence of operation narratives and convert into PLC code
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, especially SLC-500 and ControlLogix families
• Experience with Allen Bradley HMIs and Wonderware SCADA systems
• Experience with industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, and DH-485
• High proficiency level with AutoCAD
• Experience with sensors such as RTDs, Level, Flow, and Pressure and Conductivity
• Experience configuring Chart Recorders, Flow Meters, and VFDs
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal) for successful interaction across multiple internal departments, with a broad range of personnel, as well as with customers, as needed
• Ability to multitask and juggle multiple responsibilities/projects/duties/deadlines simultaneously

Specs & Details:

• Contract - Hire (indefinite commitment on length of assignment, intention and anticipation is that this position will go direct in the future)
• 50 - 60K, depending on experience
• 1st-shift
• Some travel involved, usually within a few hours of Buffalo, rarely on weekends
• Located in suburb of Buffalo, NY
