Job Description

Company Summary:

Our client designs, produces and sells sporting goods products for the hunting and shooting sports markets, as well as military, government and law enforcement markets. It distributes its products throughout the U.S. and in over 55 foreign countries.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)

   Has authority to place orders through the Wal-Mart system for all Remington warehouse Ammunition and Accessories co-managed specifications.  Also includes adjusting the system settings for assembly items.  Log warehouse orders daily – compare to LY.

 Log assembly orders daily and compare to LY.

 Through an analysis of Wal-Mart POS and Store Pull data, sales trends, promotional activity, current inventory and existing open orders, determines appropriate product requirements and places orders.

 Responsible for managing approximately 54 SKU’s for 6 consolidated Wal-Mart Distribution Centers and 68 assembly items through 40 Regional DC’s.  The value of these orders will range annually from $50MM - $65MM.

 Analyzes, establishes and adjusts lead times necessary for the meeting of appropriate levels of customer service.

Prepares and distributes various daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sales and inventory reports for both Remington and Wal-Mart.

 Establishes and coordinates the seasonal strategy build up and season build down.

 Tracks status of purchase orders and coordinates supply side information and necessary changes with the Wal-Mart Replenishment Manager.  This includes follow up with freight carriers for shipment status and checking the Wal-Mart system for receipts.

 Prepares and communicates weekly reports on performance measurements.  Initiates new performance measurement reports as appropriate.  Send reports to Replenishment Manager, weekly:  COMA Stats, out-of-stock report, cancellations/reasons, COE (by season).

 Establishes and coordinates total supply side activities with the Manager - Sales Support Services and Wal-Mart’s Replenishment Manager.

 Challenges Wal-Mart counterparts with suggested processes and parameters for enhancing sales opportunities.

 Review and correct warehouse problems for Wal-Mart.

 CPFR (Collaborative Planning Forecasting Replenishment)/DPF (Dynamic Policy Files) - Utilize the CPFR system to monitor forecasting issues.  Use the DPF function to suggest system order enhancement for End of Season Logic, Out-of Stock issues and Seasonal Strategy buildup.  Work with the Manager - Sales Support Services and the Senior Retail Planning Analyst to keep production forecasts and CPFR forecasts current by studying sales, inventory, and trends.

 Review SWAS Reports and New Item Verification daily/weekly.  Report new items and significant store count changes to Manager for item detail verification. 

 Back up Senior Retail Planning Analyst while he/she is on vacation or traveling.

 Responsible for serving a wide variety of customers’ needs.  Customers’ range from Wal-Mart (office/warehouses/stores), K-Mart (office/stores), Remington Arms (Madison Office/all satellite facilities), as well as the consumer.

 Cancel purchase orders in a timely manner.

Education and/or Experience                                                         

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
