Our client, a leader in the retail / eCommercee industry, is looking for a Sr MySQL DBA to join their growing team in the San Francisco Bay area.  Ideal candidate will have experience designing and building systems for a high traffic and transactional based environment as well as excellent knowledge of at least one major DBMS (Oracle, DB2, SQL*Server): database performance tuning, administration, data modeling and development

As Senior Database Developer, you’ll be working with MySQL database technology to design, build and maintain different components / subsystems. This position will serve as individual contributor on the business requirements for these systems as well as participate in every stage of the project lifecycle -- gather requirements, design, develop and test. 

**A wide degree of knowledge, creativity and efficiency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key contributor for implementation of initiatives related to Open Source systems.
• Assess feasibility and ramifications of new business requirements. Design appropriate solutions and recommend alternative approaches when necessary.
• Provide necessary support of the open source systems data. Respond quickly to critical requests and participate in processes troubleshooting / investigations.
• Ability to work with business users, product managers, QA, Release, UI and Platform Engineering teams to develop e-commerce applications

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the Catalog, Content and Order Management Systems.
• Experience in MySQL Database technology.
• Shell scripting
