Territory Vice President

Atlanta, GA & Birmingham, AL

The Territory Vice President has the overall responsibility and accountability for the financial and operating results of a particular territory.  This includes staffing operations for Commercial, Professional and Technical staffing businesses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Performance - Profitability

  • Meet and exceed budget in sales, gross profit and contribution
  • Demonstrate effective expense management
  • Lead key strategic initiatives that benefit both the territory and the company as a whole
  • Work with sector leadership to assess the needs of the territory and make the appropriate accommodations or adjustments to meet these needs
  • Lead by example in all interactions including but not limited to: developing the appropriate level of territory leadership to ensure a successful result for US Operations; working collaboratively with other members of the organization; setting expectations and holding the appropriate parties accountable for same; participating in key customer interfacing opportunities
  • Participate in the development of an annual business plan in conjunction with the business plan for US Operations overall

Strategic Sales - Local

  • Promote the Kelly brand through strategic, community activities and local organization involvement.
  • Drive strategic local sales initiatives and results
  • Monitor changing market conditions, competitor activities and develop responsive action plans
  • Establish appropriate goals and expectations for each business unit within their territory - local sales, product mix

Drive Product Mix - Growth & Profitability

  • Work in tandem with the Product SME's to ensure the growth of each product line and the best business outcomes for Kelly overall. Works collaboratively for a cohesive interface to both the field and customers
  • Establish appropriate goals and expectations within their territory and for each business unit within their territory - local sales, product mix
  • Leverage supply/demand data to drive educated recruiting, sales strategies that improve market share by product and margin performance

Service Excellence

  • Establish customer retention initiatives
  • Improve net promoter scores - Employee Engagement
  • Improve net promoter scores - Customer Engagement

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Leadership development of direct report group as well as mentoring identified high-potential individuals both within and outside of their organizations is critical
  • Set expectations for  the territory
  • Secure the resources necessary to support business operations
  • Develop talent through individualized career development plans that leverage strengths and address challenges
  • Develop bench strength through business growth that creates local career opportunities


Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 5 years leadership/managerial experience in the Staffing Industry.

This experience includes but is not limited to:

  • Experience in leading or responsibility for managing both large and small markets/locations;
  • Experience selecting, developing and leading teams with preference given to those with experience in both the professional/technical and commercial divisions;
  • Sales experience closing multi-business line customers;
  • Operations experience including consistently handling P&L responsibilities successfully;
  • Experience in developing successful strategic initiatives and gaining approval for same from upper management
